Design and Display

The Infinix Smart 7 HD has a unique 3D textured design that features a plastic frame and a plastic back with a impressive and stunning wave pattern design. The back of the android phone has a matte-finished and a gradient color scheme. The wave pattern is created using a combination of an antibacterial properties with the positive silver-ion-charged coating, which gives the phone a unique and premium look.

At 207g, the Smart 7 HD definitely feels heavy. It measures a dimension of 163.9 x 75.5 x 8.7 mm, hence, it fits perfectly on one hand.

The Infinix Smart 7 HD features a 6.6-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The display has a 60Hz refresh rate, which is standard for budget-friendly smartphones, and a maximum rated brightness of 500 nits, which should provide decent visibility in bright outdoor environments.

Furthermore, the display also features a waterdrop-style notch at the top, which houses the front-facing camera. This design allows for a larger screen-to-body ratio and provides an immersive viewing experience when watching videos or playing games.

The rear camera setup of the Smart 7 HD is housed in a rectangular module at the top left corner of the back. It has the dual camera, the fingerprint sensor and a LED flash. This module is made using metal material with glossy finish, this makes it stand-out.

Additionally, the Infinix Smart 7 HD flat sides host the power key and volume buttons on the right and the SIM slot on the left. The Type-C charging port, microphone, speaker grille and headphone jack are all located at the bottom.

Camera

Compare to Infinix Smart 7 Plus, the Infinix Smart 7 HD is lacking in the camera department. In terms of optics, the Smart 7 HD comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear, which consists of a 8 MP primary camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 0.08 M depth sensor. The rear camera can shoot decent photos in good lighting conditions, but struggles in low light conditions. On the front, the device features an 8 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

The primary camera has autofocus and can record 1080p video at 30fps. It also has features such as LED flash, HDR, and panorama mode.

Additionally, the camera app on the Smart 7 HD is easy to use and offers a variety of shooting modes, including Pro, Live Focus, and Night modes. The Pro mode allows users to adjust settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation, giving them more control over the final image.

The Live Focus mode uses the depth sensor to create a bokeh effect, blurring the background and keeping the subject in focus. This feature is great for portrait shots and can produce some impressive results.

The Night mode uses a longer exposure time to capture more light, allowing for better low-light performance. While the Smart 7 HD’s camera performance may not be the best in low light conditions, it can still produce decent results with the Night mode.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core processor that is clocked at 1.6GHz. This processor is coupled with either 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The Infinix Smart phone is fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging through a micro-USB port. This is smaller than the 6000 mAh battery provided in the Infinix Smart 7. The battery life of the phone is quite impressive, and it can easily last a full day on moderate usage.

Furthermore, the Infinix Smart 7 HD runs on Android 12 (Go edition) with XOS 8 on top. XOS 8 is a customized user interface that offers some additional features compared to stock Android, such as the ability to customize the themes, app icons, and fonts. It also offers additional security features, including a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock.

In terms of connectivity, the device supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and 4G LTE. The device also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a dedicated microSD card slot.
