Samsung G800 was the first mobile phone to come with a built-in 3X optical zoom digital camera. The built-in digital camera in the G800 is a 5 Megapixel camera and comes with xenon flash. This handset comes with lots features that can enhance your picture quality and clarity and can replace a stand-alone camera in lots of applications.
Samsung G800 is a UMTS 3.5G mobile phone but also supports tri-band GSM (900, 1800, 1900MHz). It has a 2.4’’ TFT 262K colour screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Editing your video is easy simply cut, paste and edit and you have your own video film. The G800 comes with a 160MB internal memory for storing your media and a microSD memory card extension.
Samsung G800 supports the state of the art High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) high speed internet. This simply means faster browsing and media download time. HSDPA support will also enable faster media streaming for TV broadcast and video and audio streaming.
However, to use the HSDPA feature of the G800 you must be connected to a 3.5G network like the Glo 3G plus by Glo mobile or the 3.5G from MTN Nigeria. Outside a 3.5G network you can connect to the internet via 3G, EDGE or GPRS. Other internet technologies supported by this handset include mobile blogging and RSS feeds.
Another great handset promoted by Samsung in the country is the D880. D880 was the first Samsung mobile phone with the dual SIM feature. The dual SIM feature empowers you to connect two SIM cards in your D880. This will make it possible for you to connect to two different GSM networks. The primary SIM is tri-band (GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz) and supports all services while the secondary SIM is dual-band (GSM 900/1800 MHz) and supports only telephony and messaging services.

Another great selling point of the D880 is its relatively large 2.3’’ TFT, 256K colour screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. This will enable you view your pictures taken with the built-in 3.15 Megapixel digital camera in lively colour. You can also view videos taken with the same camera.
Samsung D880 supports up to 2GB microSD card extension slot, but comes with 60MB internal memory. It also has a TV out port, document viewer, voice memo and a built-in hands free feature. Samsung D880 has a business card reader application and comes in a Noble Black colour.
Samsung J700 is another high performance mobile phone promoted by Samsung in the country. J700 is a tri-band GSM phone (900, 1800 and 1900 MHz). Samsung J700 comes with a 2.0’’ TFT 65K colour display and a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels.
Samsung J700 has a built-in 1.3 Megapixel digital camera with video support. This phone also comes with 10MB internal memory and a microSD card slot extension. Other features in the J700 include voice memo, currency converter and BT printing. Samsung J700 is slim and light, and comes in a black colour design.
