Yahoo mail now offer free SMS text messaging service in addition to her well established mail and chat service. With more people now owning internet enabled mobile phones, service providers are tailoring services to target mobile phones. SMS messaging is more popular than email today.

Yahoo free text messaging service allows account holders to send free text messages with their mobile phone or computer. To send free SMS from your Yahoo mail account, you must be logged in to Yahoo chat. Yahoo free SMS service is not available in every country. Unfortunately, Nigeria is one country not yet supported on Yahoo free text messaging service.

Yahoo free SMS messages are limited to 153 characters including space. Note that although text messaging may be free for you the sender, the recipient may be billed even for receiving the SMS message.
