A Cheap dual-SIM phone from Nokia
Nokia C1-00 allows you to use two SIM cards in one phone. Both SIMs operate on the same dual-bands 900/1800MHz. Switching from one SIM to another requires you to hold down a key.
Nokia C1-00 does not have dual-standby features, which means you will only be able to receive calls and SMS on the active SIM, while the other SIM will be unavailable to incoming calls.
If you want an affordable dual-SIM phone with dual-standby feature, wait for the Nokia C2-00, which will hit the market before the end of the year, fourth quarter, 2010 to be precise.
A dual-SIM phone empowers you; you can take advantage of reduced call rates, without losing your existing line. If one network is erratic in a given location, you can switch to another network with better signal, keeping you in touch with those that matter to you.
Another possibility being promoted by Nokia is the possibility of two people sharing the same phone yet each having a separate line. However, the fact that Nokia C1-00 does not support dual-standby, will limit the usefulness or practicality of this possibility. Nokia C2-00 will be better at phone sharing.
Longest ever battery life for a Nokia phone
With six weeks standby battery life, Nokia C1-00 offers the best battery life ever by a Nokia mobile phone. Talk time is not bad at all, the Nokia C1-00 promises 13 hours straight on full charge. The phone efficiently uses the 1020mAh Li-Ion battery to deliver the required performance, keeping you in touch for longer.
Colour display
Nokia C1-00 features a 1.8-inch colour TFT display. The display offers a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and a colour depth of 65k. Nokia C1-00’s display shares the same spec as the Nokia C1-01, C1-02, and C2-00.
500 contacts phone book plus 250 SMS
Nokia C1-00 features a 500 entries phone book, the same number as the Nokia 1280. It also has storage dedicated to up to 250 SMS messages and can store 20 entries each for missed, received, and dialled call records. Aside this Nokia C1-00 has no other storage or datacard support, considering that it has no media player, it does not need more memory than these.
A cheap phone for emerging markets
Nokia C1-00 is an emerging market phone and as a result follows in the footstep of some great entry level phones from Nokia like the Nokia 1200 and the Nokia 1280. A flashlight is provided to help users find things in the dark during power failure, a common occurrence in developing countries.
Nokia C1-00 like its predecessors is rugged offering dust resistant keypad and scratch resistance cover. Like the Nokia 1280, Nokia C1-00 comes with an FM radio for catching up with local news and entertainment.
Other features of Nokia C1-00 include 3.5mm audio jack, mp3 ringtones, prepaid tracker, games speakerphone, and so on.
