Nokia recently announced three new Touch and Type phones in the Nokia CSeries range of value for money phones. Two of them, the Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06 are dual-SIM phones while the C2-02 (the focus of this overview) offers only one SIM. Nokia C2-02 is a Series 40 phone featuring touchscreen, a 12-key slide-out keypad, 2.0MP camera, 32GB memory card support, Nokia Ovi Maps, push email, instant messaging, social media support, and a very loud loudspeaker.
A Touchscreen combined with keypad
Nokia C2-02 features a 2.6-inch touchscreen offering a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Nokia C2 Touch and Type also comes with a slide-out standard 12-key keypad, giving users the best of both worlds. Touchscreen is easier and faster when selecting menu and options and navigating interface, while keypads are still favoured by people who are used to it.
Because the Nokia C2 Touch and Type is compact it fits easily in your hand, making one-thumb typing easy and fast. This makes it great for messaging.
Your Map in your pocket
Nokia C2-02 features Nokia Ovi Maps. It will come preloaded with maps of your region saving you money on download costs. You can easily find places on your phone like banks, stores, restaurants, etc. The Nokia C2 Touch and Type also enables you plan routes and share your location with friends.
A 2.0MP Camera
Nokia C2 Touch and Type comes with a 2 megapixels camera with video recording. The camera is a modest one featuring 4X digital zoom.
Network, Data, and Internet browsing
Nokia C2 Touch and Type is a GSM phone supporting data services on GPRS/EDGE. It features a new Nokia browser, which Nokia claims is more efficient reducing your data cost. The browser supports WAP 2.0/XHTML/HTML as well as Flash Lite. Nokia C2-02 comes preloaded with Flash Lite 3.0.
Nokia C2 Touch and Type features short-range wireless connectivity via Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR. You can transfer files from/to your computer wirelessly via Bluetooth as well as share content wirelessly with other Bluetooth enabled devices. USB 2.0 high speed interface is provided for Nokia C2-02 and with it you can achieve the same as with Bluetooth but in a wired domain.
Pricing
Nokia C2 Touch and Type has been available since Q3, 2011. The estimated retail price for the Nokia C2-02 is N16,000.
