Nokia Asha 303 is a powerful series 40 phone. It is one of two Series 40 phones to boast of a 1GHz processor, the other being the Nokia Asha 300. For me it is the most impressive series 40 phone since the Nokia X3-02 and the C3-01. Nokia Asha 303 comes in a beautiful design with full QWERTY key and touchscreen (Touch and Type), 3G, Wi-Fi, a fast and cost sensitive browser, an impressive battery life and lots more.
A feature phone with power of a Smartphone
The big surprise for me was the inclusion of a 1GHz processor on a feature phone like the Nokia Asha 303, making it as powerful as some smartphones. Surely, I did not see that one coming. Series 40 platform on a 1GHz processor should result in fast performance and rapid response of the user interface.
Nokia Asha 303 comes with Facebook Chat preinstalled for chatting with your friends on Facebook and Whatsapp for chatting across multiple platforms. It also comes pre-installed with Angry Birds Lite. It comes with Social media and messaging integration, enabling access to updates and notifications from the homescreen.
Nokia Asha 303 features the new Nokia browser with its efficient browsing system that saves data usage and cost. The built-in browser compresses web pages on Nokia’s high-speed servers before rendering them on your phone offering a cheaper web access and with a 1GHz processor the browser will offer a fast performance.
Touch Display, QWERTY keyboard & a decent Camera
Nokia Asha 303 comes with a 2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen, which Nokia claims is readable in direct sunlight. Expect the response of the touchscreen to be fast, thanks to the powerful processor. Nokia Asha 303 also comes with a physical QWERTY keypad, which makes texting, messaging, and posting updates on social media and IM sites faster and makes it attractive for users that require fast communications on the move.
Nokia Asha 303 also features a 3.2 megapixels camera with VGA (640 x 480 pixels) video recording. The camera is a modest one with full focus, self timer, and image editor.
Network, Data, Internet browsing, Connectivity
Nokia Asha 303 features the same cellular network support of latest Nokia Symbian Smartphones: quadband GSM and pentaband WCDMA (3G). It supports high-speed data on HSDPA/HSUPA/UMTS (up to 14.4 Mbps). Outside 3G coverage the Nokia Asha 303 supports GSM with data services on GPRS and EDGE. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for connecting over WLAN networks, Bluetooth 2.1, and USB 2.0. It has no NFC support.
