Nokia Lumia 800 is a top Windows Phone from Nokia. It looks a lot like the Nokia N9, featuring a similar polycarbonate shell as a beautifully styled unibody. Nokia Lumia 800 features Microsoft Windows 7.5 (Mango) with Windows 7.8 update and marks Nokia’s move towards Windows Phone as the platform of choice for its Smartphones.
A Stylish and Powerful Smartphone
Nokia Lumia 800 comes in a sweet design. Like the Nokia N9, it features a precision-crafted unibody design from a single piece of polycarbonate, which joins seamlessly with the polarised glass above the AMOLED display. The curved polarised glass and the AMOLED forms a deep black display that makes the interface appear to the floating on the surface of the product, giving a very great experience, an experience that has been described as awesome by users of the Nokia N9.
Nokia Lumia 800 is also an all touch phone, using simple touch gestures, a swipe of a finger, for navigation. It comes ready for business with Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Nokia Lumia 800 also comes with social media integration, plus Nokia Drive that offers free turn-by-turn navigation.
Inside, the Nokia Lumia 800 features a 1.4GHz processor (single-core) with a separate 2D/3D graphic accelerator and 512MB RAM.
Display & Camera
Nokia Lumia 800 features a 3.7-inch AMOLED Clearback display, smaller than the 3.9-inch on the Nokia N9. The display offers a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels. Like on the N9, the AMOLED display comes with a polarised glass with beautifully curved edges on top. The display and the glass form a deep black display that makes the view to appear as if it is floating on the surface of the glass.
Nokia Lumia 800 comes with an 8 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording feature and superfast performance, once again just like in the N9. Like on the Nokia N8 and N9, it features autofocus. It also features a dual-LED flash for shooting in locations with poor lighting, Carl Zeiss Optics, face Recognition, red eye reduction, geo-tagging, and so on.
Network, Data, Internet browsing
Unlike most recent Nokia Smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 800 features quadband GSM and triband WCDMA (3G) (instead of the pentaband 3G on Symbian). It supports high-speed data on HSDPA/HSUPA/UMTS (up to 14.4 Mbps downloads). Outside 3G coverage the Nokia Lumia 800 supports GSM with data services on GPRS and EDGE. Lumia 800 also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for connecting over WLAN networks, Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0, and NFC. Expectedly, it comes with Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 browser.
Pricing and availability
Nokia Lumia 800 was available United Kingdom, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands in November, 2011. Nokia Lumia 800 is now available in Nigeria at a price range of between N45,000 and N55,000. Compare Nokia Lumia 800 Prices
