BlackBerry Curve 9380 is the first member of RIM’s entry Curve BlackBerry phone line to feature touchscreen. It shares a lot with the BlackBerry Curve 9360 in style and design, but does not feature a QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry Curve 9380 comes with an 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, and BlackBerry 7 OS.
BlackBerry 7 OS Touch Smartphone for the mass market
Like the Curve 9360, BlackBerry Curve 9380 brings BlackBerry 7 OS to the mass market, but replaces the QWERTY keyboard with a responsive touchscreen. It is the cheapest BlackBerry touchscreen phone.
BlackBerry 7 OS offers ease of use, fast performance, a great multimedia experience, and a new browser with a smooth and responsive performance as well as support for HTML5 video. BlackBerry Curve 9380 comes with BB Messenger 6 the latest version of RIM’s popular instant messaging service. BlackBerry Curve 9380 features an 806MHz processor with a 512MB RAM.
Display & Camera
BlackBerry Curve 9380 has no QWERTY keyboard like other members of the Curve line, creating more room for a display much larger than the 2.44-inch display on previous generation BlackBerry Curve phones. It features a 3.2-inch display with the same HVGA (360×480 pixels) resolution as the BlackBerry Curve 9360. So, do not expect the display to be as brilliant as that of the later. Despite having a touchscreen, BlackBerry Curve 9380 features the four standard BlackBerry keys and a Touch-sensitive optical trackpad.
Blackberry Curve 9380 has a 5 megapixels camera with VGA video recording. The camera features, autofocus, face detection, image stabilisation, and LED flash, geo-tagging, and 4X digital zoom.
Data and Network support
Blackberry Curve 9380 is a tri-band 3G phone with quad-band GSM support. It supports high-speed 3G data services on UMTS up to 7.2Mbps download speed. GPRS and EDGE are available on GSM networks. It accesses wireless LAN networks with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, including Wi-Fi access to Blackberry Enterprise and Internet Servers.
