Just about 7 months after launching the iPad 3 a.k.a the New iPad, Apple launched its successor, the iPad 4. Like has become customary with Apple in the last few iterations of the iPad, the iPad 4 is an incremental design featuring a faster A6x processor, global LTE capability, and Apple’s state of the art lightning connector.

An iPad that is twice as fast
Apple claims that the A6x chip on the iPad 4 offers twice as fast the CPU and graphics performance of the A5x chip in the iPad 3 and early reviews of the iPad 4 supports the claim. The A6x chip has a dual-core processor and a quad-core graphics chip offering a remarkably fast and smooth performance.
Superfast Internet
Apple iPad 4 is not just about fast UI, it features superfast data with global 4G LTE and dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi. Although the iPad 3 has LTE, the band supported were only usable in the US and probably a few other countries. The iPad 4 features global 4G LTE which means that it will support LTE networks in most countries offering up to 100Mbps download speed.
On Wi-Fi, iPad 4 is also superfast featuring dual-band 802.11n WLAN on 2.4GHz and 5GHz with over 150Mbps. So, on Wi-Fi and cellular the iPad 4 offers blazingly fast internet for power browsing, video streaming, and video calling. Outside LTE coverage, iPad 4 also supports HSPA+ and UMTS and not forgetting the good old GPRS/EDGE.
Retina Display & 5MP Camera
The iPad 4 retains the same camera and display as the iPad 3. It is still the same 9.7-inch retina display offering 2048 x 1436 pixel resolution (264 ppi), brilliant for HD videos and gaming. The rear-end camera is a 5 megapixels iSight camera with support for full 1080p video, autofocus, face detection, and geotagging.
The front-camera is a 1.2MP FaceTime camera with 720p HD capability. Like in the iPhone 5, FaceTime is available on both cellular and Wi-Fi.

The iPad 4 is available in Wi-Fi and 4G models with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage options. The Wi-Fi models come at $499, $599, and $699 for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage models respectively while the 4G models are priced at $629, $729, $829 for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage respectively.
