GOtv is a low cost multichannel digital pay TV service offering of Multichoice (operators of DSTV) in a couple of cities in Nigeria. If you are planning on buying GOtv, this article breaks down the price from the initial access cost to the monthly subscription required to maintain access.

The Access Cost

Before you think of buying into the GOtv service, ensure you are in a coverage area. For now GOtv is available in Lagos, Enugu, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Benin City Owerri, Akwa Ibom, and Port Harcourt.

Access to GOtv requires a Set top Box (DVB-T2 Decoder) and an antenna. For an initial payment of 6,900 Naira, GOtv will offer you the GOtv DVB-T2 decoder with remote, an external antenna, and 1 month free subscription to the GOtv Max bouquet.

After using up the one month free subscription you can decide to pay for monthly subscription using the packages listed below.

Gotv Packages and Monthly Subscription

GOtv currently offer 5 packages. The GOtv packages are geared towards affordability. Here are their monthly prices:

1. GOtv Smallie (₦900 per Month)

This is the entry level package offering up to 35 channels. It offers the SuperSports Blitz channel for sports news. Al Jazeera, NTA, and Channels TV are also a part of the mix for international and local news. You also get JimJam for your kids.

2. GOtv Jinja (₦1,900 per Month)

This is the entry level package if you are looking for more entertainment options offering 45 channels. It has two sports channels (SuperSports Blitz and SuperSports 2 Select), 1 movies channel (Africa Magic Epic) and 1 music channel. You also get Arise News on this package as well as Africa Magic Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba.

3. GOtv Jolli (₦2,800 per Month)

This mid-range package offers even more entertainment options 65 channels including 3 sports channels (SuperSports Blitz and SuperSports 2 Select, SuperSport Football), 3 movies channel (Africa Magic Epic, TNT, B4U Movies) and 3 music channel (MTV Base, Hip TV). You also get ROK 2, Telemundo, E, Africa Magic Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba in this package.

4. GOtv Max (₦4,150 per Month)

This package is great for sports fans as it offers more sports channels. You get over 75 channels on this package with 6 sports channels (SuperSports Blitz, SuperSport 1 Select, SuperSports 2 Select, SuperSport Football, SuperSport La Liga, ESPN). The package also offers 4 movies channel (MNet Movies 4, Africa Magic Epic, TNT, B4U Movies) and 3 music channel (MTV Base, Hip TV). 5. GOtv Supa (₦5,500 per Month)

This is the premium package. You go for this if you want the full package with over 80 channels. This package offers 6 sports channels (SuperSports Blitz, SuperSport 1 Select, SuperSports 2 Select, SuperSport Football, SuperSport La Liga, ESPN), 6 movies channel (MNet Movies 4, ROK, KIX, Africa Magic Epic, TNT, B4U Movies) and 3 music channel (MTV Base, Hip TV).
