Xiaomi Redmi 1s runs Android 4.3 on a quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz. Xiaomi has made no mension of Android 4.4 (KitKat) for this device yet. The phone offers 1 GB of RAM, so applications should run smoothly for the price.
Xiaomi Redmi 1s has a 4.7 inch IPS display with resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and tough glass protection with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It comes with 8GB of built-in storage, which you can extend by up to 32GB with microSD.
Xiaomi Redmi 1s features an 8 megapixels camera which is pretty standard and the photo quality is decent too. Redmi 1s is one of a couple of phones from Xiaomi that is destined for sale outside China.
