Leveraging the success of Google’s streaming Dongle (the Chromecast), the Nexus Player is a set-top box for streaming movies and music on your TV as well as for playing games. Nexus Player is the first device to run on Android TV.

Inside the Nexus Player
The Nexus Player is a portable device that connects to your TV via a HDMI port and enables you stream content on your TV and other mobile devices. Netfix, Hulu, YouTube, and a host of other content streaming services are listed as supported. The connection to the internet is done over Wi-Fi.
Like the Chromecast, the Nexus Player supports Google Cast which enables you stream content from your other Android devices as well as iOS devices, Chromebooks, Mac or Windows laptops to your TV.
The Nexus Player Syncs your content across all your Android devices so that for example you can start watching a movie on your TV and resume later on a tablet. The included remote features voice control which enables search for content easily.
Beyond streaming and App mirroring, the Nexus Player is also positioning itself as a gaming console. The Gamepad controller, which is sold separately enables you to enjoy an amazing gaming experience.
You can play Android games on your TV and with a free online multiplayer feature, you can compete with your friends online.

Pre-order for the Asus Nexus Player begins October 17 and store sales starts November 3, 2014. We have no information on pricing and availability for Nigeria. Price starts at $99 with the GamePad controller selling for $39. Nexus Player Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N25,000 to N50,000 at launch.
