ZTE ZMax Specs and Price

The ZMax is another decent phablet from ZTE. It is smaller than the ZTE Grand XMax, but offers better features and performance. ZTE ZMax features a 5.7-inch display and powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

Hardware and Software

ZTE ZMax features a 5.7-inch TFT screen with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

The Grand XMax features only 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage; the ZTE ZMax, in contrast, features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage (while providing the same 32GB microSD card slot). While these specs are not groundbreaking, they have become expected standards for high-end and mid-range devices.

ZTE ZMax features a 1.6 megapixels front camera (an improvement from the 1MP camera of the Grand X Max) and an 8 megapixels rear camera. The autofocus and 1080p video capture places the device on par with Samsung, Apple, and the devices of other Android manufacturers (such as Sony with its Xperia Z line).

Aside from the 1080p video capture, autofocus, improved front camera, smaller screen, and improved RAM and memory storage, the ZTE ZMax a similar 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor (in this case, a Snapdragon 400). Additionally, ZTE ZMax is loaded with Android 4.4 (KitKat).

The battery size becomes ZTE’s forte on the ZTE ZMax. It features 3,400 mAh battery – larger than that of the Motorola Nexus 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

With a 720p HD screen resolution, the 3,400mAh battery should be more than enough to get you through a day and a half or two of battery life. In addition, ZTE says that the large battery should provide 14 hours of talk time, a statement that should make consumers happy.

In short, the ZTE ZMax is the best of ZTE that can compete with other well-known Android manufacturers. For those who don’t need the best camera on the market, the ZTE ZMax should more than suffice, and the ZTE ZMax will serve the same purpose as the iPhone 6 Plus’s 8MP camera serves for Apple consumers. As for the ZMax’s battery life, however, it’s the best of the class for 2014, and the lower screen resolution should make the experience even better.

ZTE ZMax is not available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy it at leading online stores in Nigeria. ZTE ZMax price in Nigeria is expected to range from N35,000 to N42,000 depending on your location in the country.
