Huawei Ascend Mate 7

The sleek, dual-SIM device is considered a successor to the Ascend Mate 2, which was also released in 2014. Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has an aluminium unibody design and offers some amazing premium features for a lower price, when compared to some other rival devices.

Display and Camera

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 flaunts an impressive 6-inch display with full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which is slightly smaller than the Ascend Mate 2’s screen.

It has a pixel density of 373 ppi, making for a crispy clear display. At the back of the smartphone is a bulging 13 megapixels Sony IMX214 camera with quality LED flash and F2.0 aperture. Atop the front of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is a 5 megapixels sensor for selfies.

Power and Performance

The phone is powered by Huawei’s own processor – a powerful octa-core Kirin 925 processor comprising a quad-core, 1.8GHz Cortex A15 unit and another quad-core, 1.3GHz Cortex A7 CPU. Huawei Ascend Mate 7 uses a 600MHz ARM Mali T628MP4 GPU.

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 comes in two variants – one has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, while the second comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The smartphone runs on Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.0 software, based on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system.

Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is provided with a non-removable, 4100mAh battery which should be able to deliver solid power to keep the device running for long.

Fingerprint Scanner

This is just one of the several cool features worth mentioning on the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. The fingerprint scanner, made by Swedish firm FPC, makes Huawei the first smartphone maker after Apple to provide a full-touch sensor feature.

The fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the phone, below the rear camera. This feature can be used to easily unlock and start up the device. The finger print sensor supports full 360-degree print rotation capability and up to five distinct fingerprints are supported. A visitor (protected) mode can be activated with a specified fingerprint.
