Sony has taken the veil off its first Xperia device for 2015. It is the Xperia E4, which comes in two variants of single-SIM and the dual-SIM variant the Xperia E4 Dual. Sony Xperia E4, which represents an improvement on the Xperia E3, is aimed at the mid-range segment of the market. It boasts a unique design and is provided with features to help you get your fun going.
The Design
Sony Xperia E4 and E4 Dual are nicely designed to make holding the devices so easy. The look is a bit removed from what devices from the Japanese maker usually wear. The smartphone has a rounded shape with curved lines. Its bezels are smaller in size when compared to its predecessor, the Xperia E3, and it is fitted with a camera ring fashioned out of stainless steel as well as an aluminium power button.
Display and Camera
This new device from Sony features a generous 5-inch qHD IPS display with a 540 x 960 pixel resolution. Sony Xperia E4 has a 5 megapixels rear camera with 1080p HD video recording ability. A 2 megapixels front-facing camera is also provided to help you take the best of selfies. The front camera represents a significant improvement on the VGA version that came with the Xperia E3.
Power and Performance
Sony Xperia E4 is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with four Cortex-A7 cores (quad-core processor) clocked at 1.3GHz. The processor uses a Mali-400 MP2 GPU. It was earlier rumoured that the Xperia E4 devices would run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, but they are to ship with Android 4.4.4 (KitKat).
The smartphone comes with 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM and a powerful 2300 mAh battery, which Sony says could last for up to two days on a single charge. Battery power can also be conserved using Sony STAMINA Mode.
Bluetooth 4.1, 3G HSPA and Wi-Fi are some of the connectivity options available on the Sony Xperia E4/E4 Dual.
