The Design
It is easy to notice semblance between Acer Liquid Jade Z and its more-expensive cousin, Liquid Jade S, right off the bat. The differences only become clearer when you pick the mid-range smartphone for a closer look.
The mere 7.9mm thick Liquid Jade Z is very light, weighing just 110 grams. The phone has plastic feel to it, but makes for firmer grips.
Display and Camera
The display on Acer Liquid Jade Z is surprisingly the same as the one used on the Liquid Jade S. It is a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of 294ppi. Zero Air technology was used for the display to boost contrast and reduce reflection, which should improve outdoor view.
The main camera has a 13 megapixels sensor with an F1.8 lens as well as single LED flash, Dual Shot mode, panorama, HDR mode and Bright Magic mode, amongst other cool features. Spin the Acer Liquid Jade Z around and you will see a 5 megapixels snapper, which should do a great job taking selfies.

Acer Liquid Jade Z is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.5GHz, backed by 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS overlaid with Acer’s own Liquid user interface. The use of Liquid Jade Z is supported by a 2300mAh battery.

The smartphone has 8GB on-board storage space, with this being extendable using a microSD card of up to 32GB. Acer Liquid Jade Z supports 4G LTE and provides 24-bit high resolution sound through DTS audio enhancements.
Acer Liquid Jade Z is expected to sell for €199, which is a somewhat decent price, when it becomes available this month.
