A Model for Everyone
Apple Watch, which is Apple’s first device that was designed to be worn, is created to cater to different styles and tastes. This is why it comes in different sizes, which have 38mm and 42mm rectangular casing.
Apple Watch
The regular model of this wearable device comes with a stainless steel case available in polished silver or shiny space black. The display of the Apple Watch model comes with a sapphire crystal protective layer and a range of sleek bands, including stainless steel link, Milanese loop bracelet and sport band.
The choice of band and case size will determine price, which is expected to range from $549 to $1099.
Apple Watch Sport
This model shares a degree of semblance to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in terms of look and display protection material. Apple Watch Sport, the most pocket-friendly of all the three models, comes in anodized aluminium cases of space gray or silver with its display protected by strengthened Ion-X glass.
It will be sold with colourful, rubberized plastic sport bands. The 38mm model of Apple Watch Sport will sell for $349 and the 42mm model for $399.
Apple Watch Edition
Decked in 18-karat gold, Apple Watch Edition is the most expensive of the wearable models. Its display uses the same sapphire crystal protective layer like the regular model.
The 18-karat gold is available in variants of rose and yellow. The smart watch will be provided with elegantly-designed wrist bands, including leather and sport bands. You should expect to shell out more than $10,000 to claim one unit of Apple Watch Edition.
The wearable comes with many great features and native applications. Users can unlock doors, view Instagram and chat on WeChat, amongst other attractive features, using the device. Of course, Apple Watch has built-in Bluetooth as well as heart rate monitor and motion sensors for fitness.
Like other smartwatches, you can receive notifications of SMS, calls, emails, and social updates from your iPhone. Apple Watch is compatible with iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.
Pricing and availability
Apple Watch will cost between $349 to $17,000 depending on the metal and materials used. Global launch for the Apple Watch starts on April 24, 2015. It is not yet available in Nigeria and we currently have no data on pricing and availability for Nigeria.
When available, Apple Watch Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N70,000 to N3,500,000 at launch.
