Build and Display

Looking at the design and build of the Surge, it is meant to serve more specifically as a fitness watch than as a fashion accessory; it is a tad bulky. It is available in three sizes: small (wrist sizes 5.5 inches to 6.3 inches), large (6.3 x 7.9 inches) and X-large (7.6 to 9.1 inches).

The watch is accompanied by an elastomer polymer strap in black, blue or tangerine colour. Fitbit Surge sports a 1.25-inch monochrome LCD touchscreen, which is bettered by alternatives found on some rival devices. There are three buttons on the sides for navigating through menus and settings.

Activity Tracker and Heart Rate Monitor

The primary duty of the Fitbit Surge is to track your fitness activities and it does a good job in that regard. Also, new activities have been added for tracking, including hiking and yoga.

The watch can be customised with up to seven activities, in addition to running, from the wide array of activities on offer. The Fitbit Surge also tracks your sleep pattern automatically.
