Design and Display
While it does look striking, the design of the LG G4 Beat somehow shows why it comes at a more pocket-friendly price than the original G4. It has a plastic casing with no option of high-grade leather rear cover that its costlier brother has.
LG G4 Beat is 9.85mm thick and weighs 139 grams. The smartphone sports a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display, compared to the 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440p) touchscreen found on the regular G4. However, the screen does look sharp and clear while also offering impressive wide-angle viewing through its in-plane switching (IPS) technology.
Camera and Storage
LG G4 Beat features either an 8-megapixel or 13-megapixel main camera, depending on markets. The snapper boasts same Laser Auto Focus found on the regular G4 as well as Manual Mode which gives you more control over quality of images taken.
There is equally a 5-megapixel selfie camera with Gesture Interval Shot feature to enable you take four straight shots with just one hand gesture. Onboard storage memory is a manageable 8 GB and it is not clear if you will be able to expand the allocation.
Hardware and Software
An octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor powers the LG G4 Beat and is clocked at 1.5 GHz. The chip is paired with 1.5 GB of RAM, half of the memory provided on the G4. The phone runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop software to give you the best user experience on the popular operating system.
LG G4 Beat is armed with a removable 2,300mAh battery, compared to the 3000mAh juicer supplied for the original flagship smartphone. It boasts 4G LTE support to enable you enjoy super-fast browsing speeds. Connectivity features include USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GLONASS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. There is also GPS with A-GPS.
