Lenovo ThinkPad P50 packs in a stunning 15.6-inch 4K display and other features that will deliver more than convincing performance to professionals, including a quad-core Intel Xeon processor, NVIDIA graphics and abundant RAM.
Build and Screen
Successor to the ThinkPad W541, the Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is described as the thinnest and lightest mobile workstation yet from Lenovo. It is expected to be around 25mm thick and have a starting weight of 2.5 kg.
The workstation promises impressive durability having been reportedly subjected to military-grade testing. It will feature a 15.6-inch diagonal IPS display with a Full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
There will also be optional touch and IPS screen with a breathtaking 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution. Lenovo ThinkPad P50 has an X-Rite Colour Correction feature to ensure you enjoy great colour reproduction on the machine throughout its useful life span.
Performance
Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is armed with the latest Intel Xeon E3-1500M processor from the v5 product family, which is expected to be based on the newly-released Skylake architecture. Information on processing speed has not yet been revealed, but you should expect awesome performance on this mobile workstation.
RAM of up to an amazing 64GB capacity is provided, while a discrete NVIDIA Quadro graphics card ensures you get great graphics. It is engineered to run the most-demanding Independent Software Vendor (ISV) applications.
Lenovo ThinkPad P50 feature a new FLEX Performance Cooling system with a dual-fan design that ensures it remains quiet and cool while delivering very strong performance.
Other Features
Hard drives of up to 2TB capacity are provided for storage. If you want faster storage option, you will be happy to know that up to 1 TB of PCIe solid-state drive storage is also available.
Lenovo ThinkPad P50 features Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.0, Mini DP 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 ports, amongst other port and interfaces options. It comes with Bluetooth 4.1 and latest Wi-Fi 802.11ac.
