LG Wine Smart Flip Phone Specs & Price

A look at the new LG Wine Smart brings pre-smartphone era mobile devices to mind. It shows off the good old flip design, but is powered by a quad-core processor and runs on the latest Android mobile operating system for a rather uncommon user experience.

Design and Display

Known in its maker’s home country as LG Gentle, the Wine Smart flaunts a clamshell or flip design, which sort of arouses nostalgic feelings about some devices that were hot on the market years ago.

However, you should expect a bit of bulge in your pocket given this design which results in a thickness of 16.6 millimetres. LG Wine Smart sports a small 3.2-inch IPS LCD display with an HVGA resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.

Now, the screen you have there isn’t anywhere close to awesome, but that is a concession you have to make to enjoy the benefits of a flip phone with a touchscreen and physical keys.

Camera and Storage

The camera configuration on LG Wine Smart also takes you back by some years. The LG Wine Smart features a 3-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA selfie camera – decent for manageable shots.

Onboard storage capacity is a meagre 4 GB, but this shouldn’t be much of an issue since the screen size has already limited the number of apps and games you can run. If you need to add more memory, there is a microSD card slot.

Performance and OS

The Wine Smart seems engineered to deliver impressive performance, more specifically for entry-level and older users, with a quad-core processor that runs along at 1.1 GHz. The chip is paired with decent 1 GB of RAM.

Interestingly, LG Wine Smart runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system to enable you run some of the latest apps on the platform.

Other Features

The phone is powered by a replaceable 1700mAh battery that looks capable of supporting long-lasting use. LG says the device supports 4G LTE connectivity, which should allow you enjoy blazing-fast data speeds on compatible networks.

Connectivity features on LG Wine Smart also include Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The phone has a Safety Care feature that allows you to easily reach pre-selected persons in emergency situations.

Pricing and availability

LG Wine Smart is not yet available in Nigeria. When available, you can buy the flip smartphone at leading online stores in the country as well as LG phone stores. LG Wine Smart Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N35,000 to N50,000, depending on your location.
