The Xperia C5 Ultra is one of two selfie-focused offerings recently unveiled by Sony – the other being the better-configured Xperia M5. The mid-range device packs in a massive Full-HD display, a 13MP camera combo, an octa-core processor and a powerful battery.
Design and Display
Sony Xperia C5 Ultra shows off an attractive slim profile at 8.2 millimetres, although not as thin as the 7.6mm Xperia M5. It features a premium design with an aluminium frame and is build to fit relatively well into your hand despite its humongous size.
You can have the scratch-resistant handset in black, white or glossy soft mint finish. The device crams in a colossal 6-inch diagonal display, which makes this a phablet. The touchscreen has very thin bezels and a Full-HD (1080p) resolution.
You are in for spectacular viewing experience, given the large screen estate as well as IPS and Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 technologies utilised. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra boasts a one-handed operation mode to allow for easy operation with either your right or left hand.
The Cameras
The phablet is also camera-heavy like Sony Xperia M5, but not equally so. Xperia C5 Ultra features what Sony describes as ‘an industry first twin 13-megapixel front and rear camera’ for capturing images and videos in high resolution.
Both Exmor RS cameras boast 22mm wide-angle lens. The main camera has soft LED flash, autofocus and Auto Scene Recognition as well as Full-HD video recording capability. The selfie camera also features autofocus, selfie flash and Full-HD video recording capability.

Power and Performance
Sony Xperia C5 Ultra is also equipped with an octa-core MediaTek processor like the Xperia M5. However, the 64-bit chip used here runs at a slower speed of 1.7 GHz, compared to the other’s 2GHz speed. The phablet also comes with lower but decent 2GB of RAM.
Graphics is handled by an ARM Mali760 MP2 GPU. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, while a 2930mAh battery with a rated talk time of up to 14 hours supplies needed juice.
Flash memory of up to 16 GB is provided for storage and you can add up to 200 GB more using a microSD card. The Xperia C5 Ultra features Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi with Hotspot functionality.
The phone offers a dual SIM variant known as the Xperia C5 Ultra Dual.
