The Xperia M5 is a camera-focused smartphone that has just been unveiled by Sony. Considered the successor to the Xperia M4 Aqua, this mid-range phone features a high-end waterproof design, amazing camera configuration and a powerful octa-core processor.
Design and Screen
Featuring its maker’s distinctive OmniBalance design, Sony Xperia M5 is built to last with premium glass finish on both its front and back as well as with stainless steel on its corners.
The construction should put your mind at rest when the device is subjected to occasional knocks and bumps. Your peace of mind is further guaranteed by the phone’s resistance to water and dust. Sony says the Xperia M5 can even be rinsed under a tap if it gets dirty.
Sony Xperia M5 is impressively slim at 7.6 millimetres. It sports a 5-inch diagonal display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The IPS panel, backed by Sony’s Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, is designed to offer immersive, wide-angle viewing experience.
The Cameras
Since this is a camera-focused or selfie-focused device, it should be expected to impress in this department and it didn’t fail to. On the rear, you will find an amazing 21.5-megapixel Exmor RS sensor with Hybrid Autofocus to enable you take jaw-dropping images.
The snapper on the Sony Xperia M5 has 5x Clear Image Zoom feature for taking high quality images from a distance and can be used to record 4K videos. There is also a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with built-in autofocus and Full-HD (1080p) video recording capability.

Sony Xperia M5 isn’t just about capturing images and videos; it is configured to deliver powerful performance with an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor. The 64-bit chip is clocked at an amazing speed of 2 GHz and backed up for high responsiveness by ample RAM of 3GB capacity.
Somewhat surprisingly, the Xperia M5 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, which is not the latest.
Onboard storage memory is up to 16 GB and a microSD card can be used to add up to 200 GB more space. The phone is available in single-SIM and dual-SIM variants (Xperia M5 Dual). Select models of Sony Xperia M5, which comes with a 2600mAh battery, support 4G LTE connectivity.
