The Design
Samsung Gear S2 flaunts a light and compact design with a circular face. It is offered in two versions – Standard and Classic – to cater to different types of users.
The standard variant is perfect for those who love minimalist design with its silver or dark-gray finish and white or gray wristband. The fashion-conscious may find the classic version of the Samsung Gear S2 more appealing given its black chassis and a matching leather strap.
The models have a thickness of 11.4 millimetres, but the standard weighs 47 grams while the classic is 42 grams. The wearable is fitted with a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels and a pixel density of 302 pixels per inch.
The display of the Gear S2 boasts a rotatable bezel, which very likely will be used for controls together with the Home and Back buttons.
Hardware and Software
Samsung Gear S2 is powered by a dual-core processor, which delivers speeds of up to 1 GHz. RAM of 512MB capacity is provided to boost the responsiveness of the device and help keep glitches at bay.
Samsung has opted to power the wearable with the latest of its own Tizen wearable operating system, instead of Android Wear, to set itself apart from the crowd.

Samsung Gear S2 is equipped with a variety of sensors to enable you use it for fitness purposes. It has a built-in accelerometer, gyroscope and an optical heart rate monitor.
