LG V10 Specs & Price – Dual-Screen Phablet

The new LG V10 is an Android smartphone like none you have seen before and one which looks like a potential selfie addicts’ favourite. The device, which is the first in a new LG V series, features a very rugged build, dual screens, dual selfie cameras and a six-core processor backed by generous RAM.

The Design

LG V10 is built to withstand rough handling – you may think of it as LG’s answer to the Samsung S6 Active. It features what its maker calls the ‘Dura Guard frame,’ made of high-grade stainless steel of the same quality as that used for surgical tools and in top-end watches.

The phone’s rear and display base are decked out in silicon to offer extra protection against damage from drops. The 8.9mm device has passed military-grade testing for shock in independent testing, according to LG.

The Screen

The screen setup on the LG V10 is innovative in that you are presented with two displays. There is a massive 5.7-inch sdisplay with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, and above that is a tiny 2.1-inch screen with a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels.

The second screen is always on by default, showing you notifications as well as providing quick access to contacts and apps. With a pixel density of 513 ppi, both IPS Quantum screens should deliver awesome clarity.

Another way of looking at the LG V10 is as the Galaxy S6 Edge+, but with edge screen moved to the top.

The Cameras

Another main talking point is in the camera department. LG V10 packs in two 5-megapixel front-facing cameras for selfies. One of the snappers has a standard 80-degree lens, while the second boasts a wider-angle 120-degree lens. You have found a perfect tool in this one if you are the type that cannot just stop taking selfies.

The phablet also rocks an LG G4-type 16-megapixel shooter with F1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation (OIS) 2.0. It can be used to record stunning 4K videos and supports a manual video mode for pro-quality videos.

Processor and Other Specs

LG V10 is armed with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor – same one found on the LG G4. The sturdy chip is paired with ample 4 GB of RAM. Onboard storage memory is 64 GB, expandable up to an awesome 2 TB via the microSD card slot.

The handset runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and has juice supplied for it by a replaceable 3000mAh battery. It supports super-fast 4G LTE connectivity. LG V10 features a fingerprint sensor and dedicated Hi-Fi audio chip.

LG V10 is not available in Nigeria, but will launch on October 8, 2015 in Korea. We currently have no data on pricing and availability. When available, LG V10 Price in Nigeria is expected to range from N120,000 to N200,000, depending on your location.
