Build and Display

The HP Elite x3 flaunts a slim design at a thickness of just 7.8 millimetres. The handset is a road warrior built to withstand military-grade MIL-STD 801G testing. It is IP67 certified, which means it is well protected against water and dust.

The HP Elite x3 phablet crams in a massive 5.96-inch AMOLED display with a Quad HD resolution of 1440 2560 pixels for very sharp image and text appearance.

Camera and Storage

HP Elite x3 has a powerful 16-megapixel camera on the back for great shots. You also get an equally-impressive 8-megapixel front-facing snapper for your selfie taking needs.

HP Elite x3 has generous onboard storage with a capacity of 64 GB. That storage should suffice if you intend using this mostly as a phone. But you can still expand storage space by a whopping 256GB using a microSD card.

Power and Performance

The HP Elite x3 is decked out to supply convincing performance with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset running under the hood. The quad-core SoC, which consists of two dual-core processors clocked at up to 2.15GHz and up to 1.6GHz respectively. HP Elite x3 sports a 4GB RAM.

Like the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, the phablet runs on Windows 10 Mobile operating system designed to enable PC-grade productivity. HP Elite x3 supports Continuum and comes with a Desk Dock that converts it to a full fledged PC.

Like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the Huawei Elite X3 offers both a fingerprint scanner and an iris scanner for enhanced security. HP promises all-day battery life on full charge of the 4150 mAh battery.

Multiple-use Phablet

With the HP Elite x3, you get a phablet that can be transformed into a laptop or desktop computer with the aid of right accessories and thanks to its OS’ Continuum feature.

HP Desk Dock, which is used for converting to a desktop computer, offers a number of ports, including DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, and a USB Type-C port.

You transform the Elite x3 into a laptop using an HP Mobile Extender featuring a 12.5-inch display with thin bezels, an integrated battery, and a full-size keyboard.

HP Elite x3 comes with numerous features for business users, including dual biometrics (fingerprint and iris), TPM, 128-bit and 256-bit encryption, and Bitlocker support. It packs dual front-facing speakers powered by Bang & Olufsen for rich sound.

HP Elite X3 Phablet is not yet available in Nigeria or Kenya. It has launched in the UK for £706.80 and is expected in the United States in September.
