Its US-based maker’s name might not sound familiar around here, but the company was actually started by a former Apple CEO. Design and Display
This phone boasts a look you might not expect from a device at this price point. The MV1 parades a chic floating design that will get it noticed, even though the body is made of polycarbonate with matte finish.
Obi Worldphone says it merged style with substance on this one. It measures 8.95 millimetres in thickness and tips the scale at 149 grams.
The Obi Worldphone MV1 sports a fully-laminated IPS display measuring 5 inches diagonally and having HD (720p) resolution. The touchscreen features oleophobic coating and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Camera and Storage
On the rear of the Obi Worldphone MV1 is an 8-megapixel OmniVision camera with an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. This shooter can be used to record Full HD (1080p) videos at 30 frames per second.
You also get a rather lowly 2-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfies, but you will be able to enhance shot quality using a Face Beauty mode.
Users will get generous 16 GB of onboard storage for keeping your photos. The storage space is expandable by up to 64 GB as well using a microSD card.
Power and Performance
Beneath the surface, the Obi Worldphone MV1 comes equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor which runs along at a maximum speed of 1.3 GHz. The CPU is paired with an Adreno 304 graphics solution.
The RAM will have a capacity of either 1 GB or 2 GB, depending on model. The Obi Worldphone MV1 will boot either Android 5.1 Lollipop or Cyanogen OS 12.1.1 out-of-the-box.
The Cyanogen OS version lets you customise virtually everything on the device without any restriction.
The dual-SIM phone will have power supplied to it by a 2,500mAh Li-Ion battery rated to be capable of delivering up to 13 days in standby time. It offers Dolby DTS for rich audio and supports lightning-fast 4G LTE connectivity.
