Design and Display
Although still in the same budget category, the Xolo Era 4K shows off a cleaner, slightly more appealing design than the Era 4G.
It appears a bit curvier than the other device. However, it is thicker and heavier at 9.2 millimetres and 157 grams respectively.
The same 5-inch IPS display with Full Lamination and an HD resolution is retained. The screen, which promises somewhat enjoyable wide-angle viewing, is protected by rugged Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Native Damage Resistance (NDR).
Camera
The Xolo Era 4K is set up to offer more spectacular images that can help preserve those exciting times for you nicely. The 8-megapixel Omnivision rear camera has an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus and dual LED flash.
The shooter features a 5P Largan lens which helps to deal with image distortion for amazing shots.
There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for high quality selfies, at least on paper.
Hardware and Software
In terms of the innards, a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor sees to the heavy lifting on the Xolo Era 4K. This 64-bit CPU is expected to perform better than the Spreadtrum offering on the Era 4G.
Smooth multitasking and high responsiveness is further assured with 2 GB of RAM onboard.
Internal storage has a capacity of 8 GB, which can be pushed further by another 32 GB using a microSD card. The Xolo Era 4K will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box; it is not clear if this will be upgradeable to latest Marshmallow.

The main talking point on the Era 4K is arguably its 4,000mAh battery. This humongous juicer may be responsible for the ‘4K’ in its name.
Xolo promises talk time of up to 32 hours on a 2G network with this one. In spite of its large capacity, the battery is rated to take two hours and 54 minutes to charge from flat to full.
