Design and Display
The all-metal design seen on the Meizu MX5 is retained on this newer, more affordable smartphone.
The Meizu MX5e looks chic and trendy with its very narrow bezels. The MX5e crams in a massive 5.5-inch diagonal touchscreen which is based on Super AMOLED display technology.
It has a screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels that should greatly enhance the quality of images and colour reproduction.
The display is overlaid with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Camera and Storage
The Meizu MX5e is equipped with a robust 16-megapixel rear-facing camera, which is a downgrade from the jaw-dropping 20.7-megapixel shooter on the regular MX5.
The same 5-megapixel selfie snapper is retained on the device. You will get 16 GB of onboard storage for keeping your photos, songs and other stuffs. The integrated storage should be expandable using a microSD card.
Performance and OS
In terms of the innards, the Meizu MX5e is decked out with an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 processor in the same way as the original Helio X10-powered device.
However, the CPU is not as fast as the one on the earlier behemoth with its maximum speed put at 2.0 GHz.
The phablet also comes with ample 3 GB of RAM. It is not entirely clear at this time what OS the Meizu MX5e will run on; the MX5 boot Android 5.0.1 Lollipop software topped with its maker’s Flyme 4.5.2 skin.
