Listed at the same time as the Y5 II, the Huawei Y3 II is a more affordable smartphone offering optional 4G LTE support. The entry-level device sports an FWVGA display and is powered by a quad-core processor. It comes in two variants as the other phone.
Build and Display
Parading a body made mostly of plastic, the Huawei Y3 II is one phone whose maker does not appear interested in concealing its budget status.
This is further confirmed with a thickness of 9.9 millimetres and weight of about 150 grams. The curvy touch on the rear and corners is a welcome feature, though.
Huawei Y3 II comes with a 4.5-inch diagonal display having an FWVGA resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. This is not the best of screen on a phone, but the choice is forgivable when you consider its rumoured low price.
Camera and Storage
The Huawei Y3 II rocks a 5-megapixel camera on the rear, with this being accompanied by a 2-megapixel selfie snapper.
This is a decent pair of snappers for an entry-level user, but photography enthusiasts may not feel well served with them.
Integrated storage has a capacity of 8 GB, a significant portion of which would have already been taken up. There is nothing to worry about, though, since storage is expandable.
Processor, RAM and Software
A quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor clocked at 1 GHz comes with the 3G model of the Huawei Y3 II. The 4G model will be driven by a MediaTek MT6735P processor which is also clocked at 1 GHz.
Both of the variants will be kitted with RAM of 1GB capacity. Just like the Huawei Y5 II, this phone will boot Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box. This will be coated with Huawei’s Emotion 3.1 UI skin.
Other Features
The Huawei Y3 II is equipped with a 2,100mAh battery – this might not sound awesome, but it should deliver acceptably long hours of use when you consider the FWVGA display used.
You get usual connectivity options such as microUSB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. GPS with Assisted-GPS is onboard to help you find your bearings more easily.
