In the quest to optimize subscribers’ internet experience and remain the network of choice, MTN has commenced the roll-out of their 4G LTE Broadband service.
The launch of a fully active 4G LTE service by MTN provides subscribers with an optimized wireless broadband and high-speed browsing experience which is the fastest and most futuristic mobile internet access available in Nigeria today. According to the telecommunications giant, not only will 4G LTE enhance MTN subscribers’ browsing experience, it will also key in to the national objective of attaining 30 percent Broadband penetration by 2018.
This is part of the telecommunication giant’s drive to improve all its existing and potential customers’ lifestyle by providing them superior Broadband experience and the best internet services offered on MTN’s robust network.
The 4G LTE is the 4th generation of telecommunications technology that delivers very high data speeds. The MTN 4G LTE offers faster download and upload speeds that will considerably improve subscribers’ internet experience. With LTE, you can enjoy uninterrupted HD video streaming, video calls, superfast downloads, online gaming and so much more. You can essentially use your mobile device or device like a fixed line internet connection.
The initial test trial which began earlier this year to achieve Broadband penetration received a boost with the full launch of MTN’s 4G LTE Broadband service.
MTN’s 4G LTE service is presently available in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt, with plans already in top gear to expand the service to other parts of the country.
Subscribers can simply text 4G to 131 from their mobile device to confirm if their phone/SIM is 4G enabled or visit the nearest MTN customer Centre in the three cities to upgrade their SIM to a U-SIM to enable them enjoy the 4G service and experience internet like never before.
MTN’s 4G LTE Broadband service also comes with MIFI device that can be purchased at the nearest MTN friendship Centre and allows for multiple users either at home or office.
Switching to MTN 4G LTE’s service will not attract additional tariffs. Subscribers can simply use their existing data plan and will be charged according to their current plan rates.
Subscribers who prefer the 3G network may remain on the platform as there are no plans to discontinue the 3G Broadband services. Basically, as more people migrate to 4G in the areas it is available, people on 3G will enjoy their experience on it more. Ultimately both 4G and 3G will enhance Broadband experience.
