The Display and Cameras
Just like the Galaxy J1 Mini, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime has a 4.0-inch TFT display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The display is modest with support for just 262K colours. The cameras are also essentially the same: A 5 megapixel camera on the back and a 0.3 megapixels camera on the front.
The rear camera has an LED flash and can record 720p HD videos. It however lack autofocus. Both display and cameras are modest, which is understandable for an entry-level smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) on a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Although, the processors seem the same on paper, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime offers the newer Spreadtrum SC9830 chipset.
Some models offer the Spreadtrum SC9830A chipset, which is clocked at 1.5GHz and adds 4G LTE support. However, these models appear to be targeted at the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf states.
