The HP 17 shows off a minimalist, workmanlike design. There is nothing overly flashy about this one. Laptops of this size don’t usually make great road companions, so don’t expect this one to be.
HP 17 weighs in at about 2.7 kg and is roughly 25mm thick. You get full-size, island-style keyboard with numeric keypad in the package.
On the front is a massive 17.3-inch diagonal display with HD+ resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. This supports comfortable outdoor use, depending on what model you buy. For enhanced content detail and colour, you can upgrade to a unit with Full HD (1080p) display.
HP 17 is a great buy if you are looking for a laptop with a built-in DVD Writer.
Power and Performance
The HP 17 series laptops offer you freedom to choose the quality of performance you can make do with. An AMD A-Series or Intel Core processor powers the laptop.
The quad-core AMD APUs come with integrated AMD Radeon R4 or R5 graphics. In addition to integrated HD graphics, the Intel Core CPU variants of the HP 17 offer optional AMD Radeon discrete graphics. The Intel processors are 6th or 7th generation offerings.
You get between 8GB and 16GB DDR4 RAM on the models. Estimated battery life falls slightly short of a full workday.

The laptops run on Windows 10 operating system out of the box. You get up to 2 TB of hard drive space and solid state drives are available for select models.
