Build and Screen
In terms of look, the Huawei Y6 (2017) is somewhat identical to its predecessor, but for a few design tweaks. For instance, the rear camera changes position from an angle to the centre.
The thickness remains practically the same at about 8.5 mm. But it is heavier this time, weighing in at 150 grams, probably as a result of the bigger battery.
Huawei Y6 (2016) sports a 5-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, same as what the original Y6 came with. A pixel density of about 294 ppi should produce images of a quality satisfactory to majority of users.

The Huawei Y6 (2017) also loses the 1.1GHz, quad-core Snapdragon 210 chipset of the original device. What you have now is a quad-core MediaTek MT6737T running at 1.4 GHz. The Cortex-A53 CPU pairs with a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU and 2 GB of RAM.
Huawei Y6 (2017) boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Some buyers may find this a tad below par with 7.0 Nougat increasingly available. It has a newer Emotion UI 4.1 on top.
