Tecno Spark Plus K9 Specs and Price

Also going by the name Tecno K9, the Tecno Spark Plus is the big brother of the new Spark smartphone. Tecno Spark Plus K9 offers a faster processor, more RAM and a higher capacity battery, in addition to a bigger display.

Design and Display

With its metallic body, the Tecno Spark Plus is one cool smartphone. It looks a lot like the regular variant, but bigger. The profile is a little slimmer at about 7.75 millimetres. You will be able to get it in champagne gold, anthracite grey, elegant blue or scarlet red.

If somehow a 5.5-inch display isn’t big enough, the 6.0-inch unit on offer here should be more satisfactory. It’s just a tad disappointing that this IPS screen also comes with HD resolution. This means the Tecno Spark will offer sharper images.

Camera and Storage

The plus-size Tecno Spark Plus doesn’t differ from its smaller sibling here. There is a 13 megapixel rear camera with autofocus, face detection and HDR features. The 5 megapixel selfie snapper also features LED flash to brighten your shots.

Inbuilt storage of 16 GB is not bad at all. You can also extend this by another 32 GB using a microSD card.

Performance and OS

The Tecno Spark Plus also comes with an octa-core MediaTek processor. But the one used here is slightly faster than that of the Spark, running at speeds up to 1.5 GHz.

Performance also gets a boost with an improved 2 GB of RAM. The phone boots Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with Tecno’s HiOS 2.0 skin laid over it.

The phablet carries a bigger 3,400mAh battery, a choice one can understand given the extras it brings along. What you may not be happy about a bit is that there is no support for fast charging. A rear mounted fingerprint scanner gives extra layer of security to your data.
