Uhans Max 2 Review & Unboxing Videos
The Design
Uhans Max 2 offers a metal body. The smartphone looks gorgeous with rounded corners and a slightly curved back.
All the physical buttons (volume rocker and power button) and slots (dual-SIM slot) are located on the right side of the phone, which means the left side of the phone is completely free.
The mobile phone supports up to two Nano SIM cards. You can use the Uhans Max 2 with 2 Nano SIM cards.
You have to sacrifice one SIM slot if you want to add a microSD card. By the way, Uhans Max 2 supports up to 128GB microSD card.
You will find a micro USB port sandwiched between the two grilles on the bottom side of the phone. It is important to note that the two grilles are not for the speaker. While one of the grilles is for the speaker, the other is for the microphone (mouthpiece).
The front of the phone is headlined by the bright 6.44-inch IPS display. Below the display, you will find the fingerprint scanner, which also doubles as the home button. Above the screen, you will see the 13 megapixels and 2 megapixels dual camera to the right of earpiece and the LED flash to the left.
Turning to the back of the Uhans Max 2, you also find a 13 megapixels and 2 megapixels dual camera setup and LED flash. The dual camera setup promises the bokeh effect feature, but like you will find out in the camera section of the review, the results are less than desirable.
Of course, our Uhans Max 2 review will not be complete without telling you whether it has a 3.5mm audio jack. The answer is yes, the headphone jack is located on the top side.
The Uhans Max 2 is quite massive. It can be held comfortably in one hand by most people, but for most use cases you will have to call the second hand to action.
The Display
You may have noticed a pattern in my description of the Uhans Max 2 display and that is bright. The screen is very bright and lovely to view. I guess this is a no brainer. You can’t put a massive 6.44-inch display on a phone and still have the viewing experience poor.
I will say that Uhans nailed the screen. The 6.44-inch IPS display with a 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution offers a good viewing experience. Browsing on the phone and watching videos was quite fun.
The Cameras
The camera is another headline feature of the Uhans Max 2. However, unlike the display, Uhans did not completely nail the camera. While the phone boasts of four cameras (two each on the front and back), which is supposed to herald the SLR Bokeh feature (i.e. blurring of background), the results were less than desirable.
As a normal camera (just the 13MP camera), Uhans Max 2 was great when compared to other mobile phones around the same price point. It is only when you bring the two cameras (13MP + 2MP) combination to work together for the Bokeh effect that the problem starts. The Blurr was just not good enough.
I guess it is because the 2 megapixels camera was not good enough.
This should explain why when you use the 13 megapixels on its own you get quality pictures. The rear camera can record Full HD videos (1080 x 1920 pixels), though default setting is at (720 x 1280 pixels). However, the selfie camera can only manage 480p (480 x 640 pixels).
The Performance
The Uhans Max 2 runs smoothly. The lag is barely noticeable even when you have many apps open at a time. It comes with an Octa-core MediaTek MT6750T chipset. This SoC offers a 64-bit, octa-core processor clocked at up to 1.5GHz with a Mali T860 for GPU. The Phone also has 4GB RAM.
This Uhans Max 2 review will not be complete with the benchmark scores, the Uhans Max 2 scored 42,142 on the AnTuTu benchmark 6.2.7. However, I did a revised benchmark oo the AnTuTu Benchmark 7.0.4, where the Uhans Max 2 scored an improved 49,259.
I also ran Geekbench on the Max 2 and the phone got 608 on single core, 2,235 on multi-core, and 1,627 compute score.
On PCMark for Android Work 2.0 performance score, the Uhans Max 2 got a 3067.
Though the scores are just average, I must confess that my experience with the Mobile phone has been good. Touch experience was great and swiping was smooth. Apps also loaded fast.
Uhans Max 2 is loaded with Android 7.0. It comes with stock Android with absolutely no bloatware. The UI is clean and smooth
The Battery Life
Uhans Max 2 can handle a full day of work using its 4300 mAh battery. It scored 5 hours, 11 minutes on PCMark Work 2.0 battery life test, which is a pretty decent score.
It also took 5 hours, 33 minutes to drain the battery from 100% to 20% in the Geekbench battery test.
In the wild, the phone can comfortably handle a day of normal use before requiring a recharge. In addition, whenever you need to recharge the smartphone supports fast charging, so you do not have to wait forever.
You can fully recharge the Uhans Max 2 in under 3 hours, 45 minutes. The battery can charge from zero to over 45% in 1 hour, zero to over 80% in 2 hours, and 99% in under 3 hours, 30 minutes.

Conclusion
Uhans Max 2 is huge. It is obviously not for everyone. It is great for consumers looking for an affordable multi-purpose mobile device. The large and brilliant looking screen is great for watching videos and browsing the web and the cameras are great for taking photos that you will share with friends on social networks. The only downside of the camera is the bokeh effect which is like more of a gimmick than a real thing.
If you ask me, the Uhans Max 2 is a steal at $139.99. It offers a solid performance for the price.
