I am sure that many of you would agree with me that driving is a love-hate relationship. I love most of it, but at times, it can just be really frustrating and it can take its toll on you.
The later is true in instances wherein you are stuck in heavy traffic or when your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and help is unavailable.
In the rest of this post, we will briefly tackle some of the reasons why driving is hated by many people. More importantly, we will also provide you with insights on some of the things that can be done so that you will love driving.
Getting Lost
This is especially true in the case of long-distance driving and road trips. Being on the wrong way can give you a headache. Missing your turn will make you curse. It is going to be a waste of time and energy figuring out how to get to your destination.
However, there is one simple solution to turn your hate into love for driving. Invest in the best truck GPS device. The latter will provide you with detailed driving instructions so that you will never be lost on the road.
Being Bored
Most of the time, I am on my own when I drive. Going to the office and going back home, especially when I am in traffic, I usually get bored. This makes me hate driving and see it as a dreaded chore.
To prevent the latter, I invested in car accessories and entertainment system. I now have better audio and even a small screen where I can watch my favorite shows whenever the car is not moving. Now, I do not mind seating in my car for hours!
Parking Spots
Another thing that I hate the most about driving is parking. It’s not just that parking is a skill that takes quite a while to master, it is often hard to find a spot where you can park your car.
Consider yourself lucky if there is valet parking on where you are going. Otherwise, I guess there is no other solution to this but to remain patient. Keep on circling around or wait patiently until a spot is finally becomes vacant.
Rude Drivers
I know for a fact that not everyone has been educated about the courtesy of driving. It is sad to see a lot of drivers being disrespectful on the road. From cutting to speeding, some people act as if they own the road.
Many are simply arrogant and would want to show off their driving skills. Like looking for a parking slot, the best thing that you can do is to be patient. Understand their ignorance, but never be like them.
If you have the chance, confront others in a friendly manner but do not get into a fight just to prove your point.
Roadside Emergencies
It happened to me a few times already – flat tire, a smoking engine, and a dead battery, among other things. It can be very frustrating, especially when you are in the middle of nowhere.
It becomes even worse if there is no signal and you cannot ask anyone for help. In this case, preparedness is the key. I make sure that I always have a spare tire. Having a toolbox is also good so that you will have the required materials to execute repair.
Before leaving home, inspect the car to prevent any problem. Also, be educated on how to solve the most common issues so that you won’t need to call a mechanic when the need arises.
