Cyberlink is out with a new version of PowerDirector, its renowned Windows-based consumer-level video editing software. The newly launched PowerDirector 17 comes as a sequel to the Cyberlink PowerDirector 16. PowerDirector has always been one of the best video editing solutions for professionals, beginners, intermediates, and users at all levels.
The new Cyberlink PowerDirector 17 update comes with new professional-level tools and add-ons while maintaining the powerful inherent features introduced on previous versions. In addition, the new PowerDirector 17 was launched alongside a new flexible subscription option for users of the video editing software.
The new “PowerDirector 365” is a version of the software that allows users unlimited access to all premium features, add-ons, and creative design tools in the new PowerDirector update.
In the update before the new PowerDirector 17, Cyberlink introduced a wide-range capabilities and features like motion tracking, 360-degree video support and tools, audio ducking, enhanced action camera features, upgraded video collage tools and templates, lookup tables (LUTs) for color grading, color matching, animated picture-in-picture template and many more features all debuted in the PowerDirector 16.

Updated Video Collage Designer
PowerDirector’s Video Collage Designer has undergone another redesign. The collage designer was earlier redesigned in the PowerDirector 16, to allows users combine up to seven (7) different video clips into a single collage and do further customization. The new PowerDirector 17 further fine-tune the software’s collage designer for more customization freedom.
More border colors, size controls, inter-clip border adjustments, and ability to save or download customized templates have been incorporated to the video editing software collage designer.
Redesigned Paint Designer
Animated painted effects can now be overlayed on videos in the latest PowerDirector 17 paint designer.
Enhanced Subtitle Room
With the Cyberlink PowerDirector 17, video editors will now be able to import and export SRT subtitle files with customized colours, fonts, and styles in movies and videos.
Improved Title Designer
The software’s title designer have also undergone enhancements to become better and accommodate more capabilities. On the PowerDirector 17, Cyberlink introduces new animated title text effects. Also, users can now quickly edit titles directly in the preview window.
Multi-key Sampling Chroma Key Editing
This is a feature of the PowerDirector 17 that would appeal to beginner and professional video editors, like new and old PowerDirector users. Thanks to its improved Chroma Key engine and multi-key color sampling, users can now go Pro and edit Hollywood-style green screen.
