Over the years Jumia have come up with different initiatives to help consumers buy the most authentic products and get the best shopping experience.
The first initiatives where aimed at reducing delivery time, especially for consumers in Lagos. Jumia launched Next day delivery and same day delivery in 2014.
However, the first major initiative in sanitizing Jumia was made in 2016 with the launch of Jumia First. The program offered sellers the opportunity to warehouse their products at Jumia speeding up delivery. This also ensured that qualified products were available for delivery, improving customer experience.
Jumia Express was launched in 2018 as an upgrade to Jumia First. It added some level of quality check to ascertain the quality of the products.
Last year, Jumia Mall was launched aimed at getting brands to sell directly at the online store, ensuring best quality products and best prices.
Jumia Local aimed at promoting locally manufactured products, Jumia Global to make products not sold locally available through import from sellers abroad, and Jumia Prime offering free shipping for a monthly subscription were other initiatives of Jumia in-between.
