This console comes in two colours the general black casing and a white casing with sandwiching curved black interior, along with blue LED lighting and vents along the top curve on both model.
Performance
Just like the Sony PlayStation 5, the PS5 Digital Edition is built on the eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz paired with a custom AMD RDNA 2-based GPU.
This AMD’s third-gen Ryzen CPU is built on the chip company’s latest 7nm Zen 2 process, with cutting-edges quad-core architecture which provides the responsiveness and performance.
The custom AMD RDNA 2-based GPU provide 10.28 teraflops of power using variable frequencies on both the CPU and GPU
Furthermore, this CPU and GPU combination will allow the PS5 to utilize ray tracing acceleration. Ray tracing is advanced lighting tech that can take in-game graphics to a whole new level by more realistically mimicking the way light behaves in an environment.
Similarly, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition sport a proprietary 825GB SSD, and support off-the-shelf NVMe SSD expandability.
The SSD is according to the company 10 times faster than the PS4, thus, offering faster load speeds, allowing for bigger maps, as well as better system memory management.
Compared to an HDD, the SSD offers 100x faster load speeds which means no load screens, ultra fast streaming and ultra fast boot speeds too.
In addition, this all-digital console offers an high-quality 3D audio experience.
With the use of the AMD compute unit-based Tempest Engine and custom Head-related Transfer Function (HRTF) maps, the PS5 Digital edition allows gamers to experience high-quality 3D in-game audio with even the most basic headphones or speakers.
Similarly, unlike the standard PS5 console, the Digital edition is essentially a streamlined alternative, therefore, you can’t play games or movies from physical discs which is only possible with the presence of the disc-drive.
Sony PS5 digital edition however, support up to 8K graphics has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, thus, providing a much smoother, responsive look on displays handling faster speeds.
Other features
Unlike the PS4 which only offer up to HDR10 display format, the Sony PS5 Digital edition supports an upgraded HDR10+ format. Thus, offering better detail and a fuller range of color, especially in scenes which display mostly light or mostly dark content.
Furthermore, Sony PS5 Digital Edition comes with a whole new user interface which is 100 times better than the PS4 UI. The UI is based on a new visual language to increase the performance speed.
Above all, this gaming console comes with support for WiFi 802.11ac, thus, enabling you to easily connect online wirelessly. You can still connect with wires via Ethernet.
