Design and Display
Aesthetically, the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra is pretty much the same as its siblings in the Redmi K30 series. It features the same chassis build as well as design.
There is no telling which is which unless you have knowledge on the color variants peculiar to them. Here we have got three color variants which include Moonlight White, Midnight Black, Mint Green.
Build properties of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 ultra chassis comprises of Gorilla Glass 5 on the rear on the rear, Gorilla glass 5 upfront, and aluminum on the frame.
Upfront we have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 Pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 395 PPI density. Xiaomi was able to achieve a display void of the camera cut out, by making do with a pop-selfie camera.
Moving on to the rear panel, we have a circular camera module that houses four cameras. Below that camera module is an LED flash and below the LED flash near the bottom is a Redmi branding which sorts of indicates its a Xiaomi smartphone.
The Cameras
The Camera on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra is a reminiscence of what we saw on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro. At the same time a bit far off what we saw on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro.
The rear camera department comprises a 64MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.9, a 13MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.4, a 5MP telephoto / macro camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4.
This camera setup lets you record videos maxed at 4k @ 30fps. You also get 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240/960fps. You also get HDR and Panorama mode for photos.
Selfies are manned by the same 20MP pop-up selfie camera we saw on the Redmi K30 pro and on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro zoom. This camera lets your record videos maxed at 1080p@30fps. You also get 720p video recording up to 120fps.
Hardware and Software
Over the past few months, Xiaomi has shown an ample measure of faith in MediaTek processors. So much so that they have featured it on may of their smartphones.
Xiaomi made a shift from Qualcomm to featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor as opposed to the Snapdragon 865 processor we saw on the Redmi K30 pro.
The other performance facilitators on the K30 ultra includes a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, storage options that include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. It also offers 6GB and 8GB RAM variants.
Giving juice to this smartphone is a non-removable 4500mAh battery, which is by 200mAh smaller than that of the Redmi k30 pro. You also get a 33W fast charge backed by Quick Charge 4+. Xiaomi claims this fast-charge mechanism should give you a 100% charge in 58 min.
On the software side, we have MIUI 12 running on the Android 10 operating system.

The Xiaomi Redmi K30 Ultra a USB Type C port, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. Please note that it doesn’t feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and as such requires type-c headphones or wireless headphones for private audio listening.
