Oppo A53 5G Specs, Price and Best Deals

In recent times, we have seen a ton of smartphone manufacturing companies provide 5G and non-5G variants in an attempt to meet the needs of different enthusiasts. The Oppo A53 5G is a pointer to this fact Oppo that isn’t sleeping on this fact.  It is the  5G variant of the standard Oppo A53 released earlier in 2020.

Design and Display

The Oppo A53 5G builds on the foundation of the Oppo A53’s design, offering enthusiasts what can be termed as a more refined design with a more appreciable aesthetics.

Flipping on the rear, we immediately notice the disappearance of the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor which leaves it with a more subtle rear panel.

Please note that the Oppo A53 5G comes in three colour variants, which include black,  green, and purple.

The vertical camera module was also transformed into a square camera module. Bearing the same number of cameras and an LED flash.

Flipping this Android phone to get a front view reveals a 6.5-inch display, which is the same size as the display on the standard Oppo A53, however, we have got an upgraded display tech.

The display resolution was upgraded from 720p to 1080p. We also have a screen density of 450 PPI, a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Cameras

The Oppo A53 5G didn’t leave the cameras untouched. As a matter of fact, the primary camera on the rear bears the upgrade over the cameras on its non-5G variant.

The rear camera setup bears a 16MP primary camera with an aperture of f/2.2, as opposed to the 13MP primary camera on its non-5G sibling.

The other cameras on the rear system include a 2MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4 and a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4. Enthusiasts can shoot videos up to 4k @ 30fps with this system.

Upfront, we have an 8MP camera, which is sort of a downgrade from its non-5G sibling. This camera supports has an aperture of f/2.0, supports HDR, and can shoot videos up to 1080p @ 30fps.

Hardware and Software

Powering the Oppo A53’s 5G performance is an Octa-core MediaTek 720 5G processor, a Mali-G57 GPU, 4GB or 6GB RAM options, and a 4040 mAh battery, which is dropped from the 5000mAh battery on its non-5G sibling.

Scanning through its specs sheet reveals it sort of falls in the mid-range category. It isn’t a powerhouse, but it’s capable of taking on tasks without jitters.

On the software side, the Oppo A53 runs the ColorOS 7.2 user interface on top of the Android 10 operating system.

Connectivity

The Oppo A53 features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C Port, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi.

Internet connectivity on the Oppo A53 5G is capped at 5G, which means enthusiats can download, stream and upload at 5G speeds.

Oppo A53 5G Price and Availability

The Price of the Oppo A53 5G wasn’t known at the time this article was written, however, there are speculations that it could start around $196, which translates to 77,374 Naira in Nigeria, 1,151 GHC in Ghana, and 21,325 KHS in Kenya.

The Oppo A53 5G was announced on December 18th and is expected to be available for purchase on December 21st, 2020.
