Design and Display

Laying aside, the differences in colour options, the Xiaomi Mi 11x is pretty much a mirror image of the Xiaomi Redmi K40 as far as aesthetics goes. This goes to say, Xiaomi is offering a very familiar design.

This design can be placed as being simplistic. We have got a subtle gradient pattern on the rear, on which you will find a conspicuous camera module holding triple cameras and an LED flash. Also on the rear, is the Redmi branding, which tells veterans they are dealing with a Xiaomi smartphone.

The available options are in a trio and they include Celestial Silver, Lunar White, Cosmic Black. Which is sort enough to avoid a dilemma.

Moving to the front of this device, we find a 6.67 inches Super AMOLED display, bearing a punch-hole camera in the top middle position. The highlights of this display include a resolution of 1080 x 2400 Pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Cameras

On paper, the cameras on the Xiaomi Mi 11x are a replica of the camera setup on the earlier released Xiaomi Redmi K40. If all things are equal as the specs sheet says, then we should be expecting the same camera performance.

The rear setup on this device consists of a 48MP primary camera with an aperture of f/1.8, a 5MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.4, and an 8MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a 119˚ field of view. Video recording on this camera setup is capped at 4K@30fps.

upfront on the front camera setup is a single 20MP camera with an aperture of f/2.5. This camera is capable of shooting videos up to 1080p@30fps.

Hardware and Software

Performance wise, the Xiaomi Mi 11x opts for the lower Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor with a 7nm process, as opposed to the Snapdragon 888 processor with a 5nm process.

We have also got an Adreno 650 GPU as opposed to the Adreno 660 GPU and also a non-removable 4520 mAh Li-Po battery, as opposed to the 4600mAh battery as seen on the Mi 11.

We have got a 33W fast charging too and lastly, the RAM and storage options include 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM, with no option for storage expansion via Micro-SD.

On the software side, we have got the MIUI 12 user interface running on the Android 11 operating system.

Connectivity

While the top of the line 8GB / 128GB variant goes for about $426, which translates to about 162,094 Naira in Nigeria, 2,463 GHC in Ghana and 45,881 Kenyan Shilling.
