Design and Display
As you might have probably expected, due to its Lite moniker, the design on the Motorola Edge 20 lite falls in place as the most subtle in the edge 20 series.
The rear panel holds a subtle gradient design on which you will find a square camera module with three cameras and the Motorola branding resting on the capacitive fingerprint sensor. Ideally, the branding will inform you it’s a Motorola smartphone.
Moving upfront, we discover a 6.7-inch display, which happens to be the same size as the dispaly on the standard edge 20. The difference is that this display has a 90Hz refresh rate, as opposed to 144Hz on the former.
However, this display has the same resolution of 1080 x 2400 Pixels and a density of approx 385 PPI.
The Cameras
The rear camera setup on the Motorola edge 20 lite comprises of a 108MP camera, which sort of came as a surprise to me.
We also have an 8MP ultrawide camera as opposed to the 16MP ultrawide camera on its more premium sibling, and a 2MP depth camera in place of the 8MP telephoto camera on its sibling. Video recording on the rear is capped at 4k @ 30fps.
Upfront, we have a single 32MP camera with an aperture of f/2.3, as seen on both the pro and the standard edge 202. This camera is capable of recording videos up to 1080p @ 30fps.
Hardware and Software
The performance on the Motorola Edge 20 lite is championed by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 5G processor, as opposed to the Snapdragon 778G 5G processor on the regular edge 20.
What’s more, we have a Mali-657 MC3 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and a bigger 5000mAh battery, as opposed to 4000mAh on its standard sibling.
On the software side, the Motorola Edge 20 lite runs its interface ontop of the Android 11 operating system.
