The Ulefone Power Armor 12 5G is yet another re-affirmation of Ulefone capabilities in manufacturing a top self-rugged smartphone, that encases capable hardware in a tough chassis. It also happens to be a sequel to the Ulefone Armor 11 5G, which in comparison offers hardware more capable than what is offered on the Armor 12 5G more on that later.

Design and Display
Spotting rugged smartphones have to be one of the easiest things for tech enthusiasts, as they are built like a tank. They are void of any fragile-looking cue. This means no curved display, supper thin bezels, glass on the rear e.t.c.
However, what we do have is a smartphone designed to withstand tough conditions. A smartphone designed to withstand water, dust, and damage that may occur if dropped from a height.
The Ulefone Power Armor 12 5G design isn’t void of the aforementioned. It follows the trend in the Armor series to offering a tough chassis that has IP68/IP69k rating covering its prowess.
Ulefone claims this device can survive in 1M of concrete for 24 hours, survive being submerged in water 1.5m deep, and survive a fall from a height maxed out at 1.2m.
Still, on its being rugged, the Ulefone Armor 12 5G also passed tests that awarded it the MIL-STD-810G rating. These tests include low-pressure tests, humidity test, acidic atmosphere test, and solar radiation test.
Perusing the placements on its chassis reveals a camera module on the rear bearing triple cameras and an LED flash. We also have some informative writeups and the Ulefone branding which indicates it’s an Ulefone smartphone.
Taking a view of the front panel reveals a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with a drop notch, which is slightly bigger than the 6.1-inch LCD on the Armor 11 5G. The highlights of this display include a resolution of 720 x 1440 Pixels and a density of approximately 264 PPI.
The Cameras
As far as the specs numbers go, the Ulefone Armor 12 5G bears a camera hardware that falls behind the Ulefone 11 5G.
On the rear setup, we have a 48MP primary with an aperture of f/1.8, an 8MP ultrawide camera with an aperture of f/2.2, a 2MP macro camera with an aperture of f/2.6, and a 2MP depth camera with an aperture of f/2.4. Video recording on this camera is capped at 1440p@30fps.
Comparing this to the 48 MP + 13 MP + 20 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP setup on the Armor 11 5G shows, we have a lesser number of cameras on the Armor 12 5G and also lesser pixels.
Moving up front, we have the same 16MP selfie shooter, however with an aperture of f/2.2 in lieu of an aperture of f/2.0 as seen on the Armor 11 5G.
Hardware and Software
On the performance side, the Ulefone Armor 12 5G rocks the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor as its primary performance facilitator, in lieu of the Dimensity 800 5G processor on the Armor 11 5G.
We also have a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU instead of the Mali-G57 MP4 GPU. What’s more, we have 8GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage as opposed to 256GB, with support for SD-card up to 1TB, a non-removable 5,180mAh Li-Po battery, as opposed to 5200mAh, and an 18W fast charge mechanism.
On the software side, the Ulefone Armor 12 5G runs the Android 11 operating system.
