Lesoos FatSky: A Folding Electric Bike with Fat Tires

Best Freelancers to help you Grow your Business

The Lesoos FatSky is a powerful folding electric bike with fat tires that make it adaptable to different terrains like snow, sand, mud, and mountain trails. It is a multipurpose eBike suitable as a commuter bike as well as with enough ruggedness to make it suitable for the off-road when you want to tackle mountains and other less than perfect terrains.

Lesoos FatSky eBike

The FatSky is one of two folding eBikes currently offered by Lesoos. The other is the Lesoos PowerSky, a 14-inch folding ebike with more stamina. While the FatSky is more versatile and can handle multiple terrains better, the PowerSky offers a better range with a maximum range of about 160 km (100 miles) compared to the 80 km (50 miles) maximum range of the FatSky.

Wait, before you rush out to buy the PowerSky because of its higher range, it is important to note that while the higher range is partly because of the slightly higher battery capacity, the much lower motor capacity is a major contributing factor. This gives the FatSky two major advantages over the PowerSky. The first being that the fat tire ebike has a lot more power to offer when you need it and the second is a faster speed. While the FatSky can do up to 50 km per hour, the PowerSky flats out at 25 km per hour.

The suspensions in the front fork and seatpost ensures a smooth and comfortable riding experience.

FatSky Multifunction Display

On the handle an LED display is attached that offers useful information about your ride. It is a multifunction display that shows information like the current level of your battery, the current speed or average speed, mileage, and current power output of the motor.

The Lesoos FatSky has a tailstock which you can attach a basket to for carrying cargo. This rear rack measuring 40.5 x 27 cm has a maximum load capacity of 150 lbs (68 kg) making it useful for shopping and a whole lot of other applications where carrying stuff is required.

The Performance

Lesoos FatSky is a versatile electric bike designed for a solid performance in smooth and rough terrains. It offers three working modes that you can seamlessly switch between depending on your needs.

FatSky has three Ride Modes

You have the electric mode where you rely entirely on the built-in battery and motor for speed and acceleration. Then there is the pedal assist mode where the motor provides some power to assist you with speed and acceleration. The FatSky electric bike offers an intelligent 3-level pedal assist mode.

Finally, you have the manual mode, where your pedaling will provide the speed and acceleration. However, the eBike provides a Shimano 7-Speed drivetrain. This 7-speed variable speed controller means you can comfortably navigate different terrains effortlessly.

This Electric bike with fat tires can ride up to 37 miles when on electric mode and up to 50 miles with pedal assist. It has a maximum speed of 32 mph (52 km / hr) and can carry a maximum payload of 330 lbs (149 kg).

The Battery and Motor

FatSky 500W Motor and Engine

Lesoos FatSky electric bike comes with a built-in 500-watt brushless motor powered by the built-in 48V 12.5 Ah lithium battery. The motor can entirely supply all the power required for speed and acceleration when the bicycle is on electric mode. When in the three pedal assist mode, the motor contributes to your pedaling reducing the amount of work you require to reach the required speed or torque.

Each pedal assist level increases the contribution of the motor, reducing the pedaling effort required for conquering the terrain. For example, using the highest pedal assist level when climbing a hill will make the ride almost effortless.

The battery is encapsulated in a black hard plastic that protects the battery from the elements and shock. The power supply system is also equipped with circuitry that protects the battery from overcharging, over discharging, overcurrent, or shortcircuit. This ensures the longevity of the battery.

The battery is easily removable. You just use the provided key to unlock the battery housing, flip up the seat and remove the battery. The battery fully charges in 4 to 6 hours. Once fully charged the green light indicator would light up. Make sure to fully charge the battery before your first ride. This is a crucial step in your electric bike maintenance.

Conclusion

The Lesoos FatSky is a versatile electric bike with fat tires. It is an excellent bike for anyone looking for a commute bicycle that they can use to go to and from work or for running errands. Its fat tires and variable speed means it can also handle rough terrains making it a good choice if you love hiking or ride on less than idle terrains. Compared to other electric bikes in its category, the FatSky comes at a bargain.
