Design, Display, and Photography
The major reason we believe Infinix emphasized 2022 in the naming of this device is because despite the refinement it still retains the same processor as the variant launched in May.
You also get the same camera setup both in the front and the back, though the placement of the rear camera is now different.
The rear camera consists of a 50 megapixels wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2 megapixels depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a QVGA camera.
This camera delivers good quality photos and offers slow motion video recording with support for 240 fps. You can record up to 1440p 2K videos using the rear camera.
The 8 megapixels selfie camera sits on a U-notch, a departure from the dot-notch in the May edition. You can record full HD 1080p videos with the front camera.
Perhaps the biggest shift in the Infinix Note 12i 2022 is in the display department. The display is slightly smaller sure, but the IPS display in the May variant has now been swapped out for an AMOLED display.
Not just that, the 6.7-inch display is also packed with a lot more pixels now offering 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. You also get 90Hz refresh rate. AMOLED displays are more energy efficient which can be positive for battery. They also offer a richer view with brilliant colors and deeper blacks.
Infinix Note 12i 2022 features a sleeker and more refined design compared to the 12i May edition. It features a plastic body and glass protection for the display. Available in three color options, the Infinix phone retains the Force Black option, drops the Snowfall options, and adds the Alpine White and Metaverse Blue options.

Infinix Note 12i 2022 is powered by the same MediaTek Helio G85 processor as the May 2022 Edition. The processor is built on a dual-cluster architecture with a dual-core Cortex-A75 clocked at 2.0GHz and a hexa-core Cortex-A55 also clocked at 1.8GHz. This is the same chipset in the Tecno Camon 19 and the Tecno Spark 9 Pro.
Like in the May Edition, you get the option of 4GB RAM. However, this newer model adds a model with 6GB RAM. The model with 6GB RAM supports up to 5GB of virtual RAM via the extended RAM feature, giving you a total of 11GB RAM for a smooth performance.
You can choose between 64GB and 128GB for built-in storage. This Infinix Note phone runs on Android 12 with XOS 10.6.
The android phone sports a 5000 mAh Li-Po battery, which should provide a decent battery life. Charging should be fast thanks to the built-in 33W fast charging capacity.
Connectivity
This smartphone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port with OTG support, low energy Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band WiFi. Internet connectivity is capped at 4G LTE.
