Vivo has unveiled its most powerful foldable device, the Vivo X Fold 2 in April 2023. This smartphone went up against other foldable smartphones like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 an Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. It is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, coupled with an ultra-large LTPO AMOLED displays, impressive camera setup, intelligent heat dissipation system and a powerful battery. This captivating device was launched alongside the Vivo X Flip to bring a whole new level of entertainment and immersion to users.

Design

The Vivo X Fold 2 features a foldable design with an an 8.01-inch flexible OLED display that folds inwards. When folded, the device offers a secondary display on the front cover, measuring 6.53 inches. The body of the Vivo X Fold 2 is built with a durable aluminum alloy frame and unique back panel. This hinge mechanism is designed to allow for smooth and seamless folding and unfolding of the device.

Furthermore, this smartphone design is slim and sleek, although not as slim as Tecno Phantom V Fold. It measures a dimension of 161.3 x 73.4 x 12.9 mm when fold and 161.3 x 143.4 x 6 mm when unfolded. The bright display is surrounded by slimmer bezel and an under display camera that gets out of the way for a more immersive experience.

The matte finish rear panel host the big circular camera module with three camera lens beautifully arranged alongside the LED flash. At the lower central part of the device is the Vivo branding. Overall, the Vivo X Fold 2 is available in Black, Blue, and Red.

Vivo X Fold 2 comes with an 8.03-inches Foldable LTPO OLED display that folds inwards. This main display has a resolution of 1916 x 2160 pixels and offers a high refresh rate of 120Hz. When folded, the device offers a secondary 6.53-inch display on the front cover, which has a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The secondary display can be used to access basic functions and notifications without having to unfold the device. Both screens also pack under-display fingerprint scanners, which is rarely seen in foldable smartphones.

The Vivo X Fold 2 offers support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which means that users can enjoy HDR content from various streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube, with enhanced picture quality.

In addition, the main display also boasts a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits, while the cover display has 1600 nits peak display, which ensures that the display is easily visible even in direct sunlight, which makes it ideal for outdoor use.

The Vivo X Fold 2 features a powerful triple-camera system on the back that consists of a 50MP primary camera that comes with Dual Pixel PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), Laser AF (Autofocus), and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).
