The Motorola Moto E14 is a budget-oriented smartphone that offers more than its price. It is an upgrade to last year’s Moto E13, offering a few upgraded features including a single 13-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 90Hz display, a 5000mAh battery with 15W charge, and Android 14 (Go Edition). Although, the Moto E14 retains the Unisoc T606 chipset of last year, it backs it up with a 64GB UFS 2.2 internal storage.

Design and Display

The Motorola Moto E14 can easily be mistaken for last year’s Moto 13 design. It features a similar sleek and minimalist design with a glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back, making it lightweight and comfortable to hold. The affordable phone has rounded edges and a matte finish on the back, which provides a good grip and reduces fingerprints. It has a slim profile which measures 163.5 x 74.5 x 8 mm and weighs 178.8 g.

The front of the device is dominated by a 6.5-inch display with moderately slim bezels and a slightly thicker chin, which is common in budget-friendly models. Likewise, the screen covers 84.9% of the front, providing an immersive experience. The top of the screen houses a small, teardrop notch for the front-facing camera, maintaining a clean, unobtrusive appearance.

This 6.56-inch IPS LCD display has a 90Hz refresh rate, making it smooth and vibrant. It also comes with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and a pixel density of approximately 269 ppi, hence, the display provides clear and crisp images, though not as sharp as higher-end models. The front-facing 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and HDR support is adequate for selfies and video calls. Like the rear camera, it can also record videos in 1080p@30fps. While it doesn’t offer advanced features found in higher-end smartphones, it gets the job done for basic needs.

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto E14 is powered by the same Unisoc T606 chipset of Moto 13, which integrates an octa-core CPU with two 1.6 GHz Cortex-A75 and six 1.6 GHz Cortex-A55 and Mali-G57 MP1 GPUs for graphics processing.

This setup provides a balanced performance suitable for everyday tasks and moderate multitasking. This is the same chipset in other affordable models like the itel P55 and the itel P55 Plus.
