Design and Display
Having spectacular designs has sort of becoming a great deal these days, considering the fact that we have had smartphone brands making repetitive designs, some of which are copied from other brands.
Well taking a first look at the Blackview BL5000 shows that Blackview wasn’t really enthusiastic about offering a unique design. All that is seen on its chassis are design elements we have seen in the past.
The setup on the rare is the most glaring of the reminiscence, as it’s a replica of what we had on the Blackshark 3.
On the rear, we have two upside-down triangles the top is a camera module bearing three cameras and an LED flash, while the downward one bears the 5G and Blackview branding, which will help you know it’s a Blackview smartphone.
Moving up front, we find a 6.36 IPS In-cell display with a punch-hole camera in the top-left position.
The bezel here isn’t the thinnest of the bunch, especially the one on the top, which could sort of be forgiven considering the fact that you need to place your hands on the bezels when playing games.
Gaming Provisions
The Blackview BL5000 isn’t really a high-end gaming smartphone, as it falls in the lower category of gaming smartphones and can’t certainly be compared to the likes of the Rog phone 5.
However, it does pack in some features that will help with gaming, for starters, Blackview is offering a 90 degree USB, which will help offer good ergonomics if your wish is to continue playing games while charging.
There is also a 3D copper pipe liquid cooling technology that is geared towards keeping the device cool during intense gaming sessions.
Water / Dust Resistance
As discussed in the introductory paragraph, the Blackview BL5000 has the prowess of surviving harsh conditions. There are high chances it won’t get damaged in common accidents.
To this end, it bears an IP68 rating for water resistance. Black view claims on its website that the BL5000 can survive in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes without getting damaged.
Also on board is the IP69k rating for dustproof and the military MIL-STD – 810Grating for toughness.
The Cameras
Unlike the performance hardware, cameras haven’t really been the hallmark feature on gaming smartphones. We have seen OEMs make good moves, but the moves haven’t really reached there.
The Blackview BL5000 in its capacity doesn’t try to do the extraordinary. As a matter of fact, it falls in the low-end of cameras in the gaming space.
On the rear, we have just two cameras made up of a 12MP primary camera with an IMX362 and a 16MP ultrawide camera with a 125-degree field of view.
The Selfie department holds a 16MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and the S5K3P9SP sensor.
Hardware and Software
On the performance side, the Blackview BL5000 rocks the MediaTek Dimensity 700 as its main driver. Please note that this processor has a 7nm processor.
